Iconic Marilyn Monroe Photos Up For Auction

Serious Marilyn Monroe fans only need apply to bid on this auction for rare photos of the bombshell. Bert Stern's iconic photos of Monroe were taken for Vogue back in June 1962, just weeks before her death in August. Yep, these are the photos that inspired Lindsey Lohan's "The Last Sitting" shoot for New York Magazine in 2008, shot by Stern himself.
Also up for grabs are snaps by Monroe's friend George Barris, who captured the silver screen siren romping on the beach and in her Brentwood home. Barris's photos were later included in the book Marilyn, by Gloria Steinem.
The online auction through Heritage Auctions Texas for Stern's photo collection, titled "The Last Sitting," could snag a total of more than $70,000, or about six grand a pop. You can also try to rustle up a copy of Stern's book Marilyn Monroe: The Complete Last Sitting, which currently fetches upwards of $800 on rare book sites. Either way, these photos don't come cheap! The auction begins on March 10 and ends March 15. (The Telegraph)
