Did you skip out on some of your required reading in high school? Or pick up a classic for Honors English only to be left wondering why everyone else was making such a fuss over it? Don’t worry, we don’t judge.

But now that you're an adult, it’s time to try again. Every book is better when you don't have to write a paper on it (or read with your pencil poised to underline examples of, say, ironic foreshadowing). So with that in mind, we present our list of books from the high school canon we think are worth a revisit. Don't think of it as homework, think of it as a toast to freedom.
