We're not saying Vogue's September issue is a huge freaking deal, but, you know, they don't make hugely popular documentaries about just any issue of use any magazine. Oh, who are we kidding? It is a huge freaking deal.
Speaking of huge freaking deals: Who better than Beyoncé to grace the 2015 issue? Thanks to social media — cough, designer Marc Jacobs — we got a sneak peek of the pop icon slaying the most important magazine cover of the year. Vogue has since confirmed the news on Tumblr, with a full look at Bey's Mario Testino-lensed cover shoot. It's a good day to be part of the Beygency.
As Jacobs noted, Bey appears in a Marc Jacobs gown and coat in the sultry cover photo. Those wet-look locks are very "Drunk in Love," no? All that look requires is a bit of water, but if you don't have the budget to recreate Bey's designer duds, take heart. The issue features a special Target insert in which the mass retailer recreates 15 iconic Vogue images and outfits. Score!
Incidentally, this is not the singer's first Vogue cover; she last appeared on the March 2013 issue. It is, however, her first September issue. It's also the first time the magazine's September issue has featured a woman of color solo since Halle Berry in 2010, though Joan Smalls appeared in a group shot last year. We'll call that progress.
