Design Star: West Elm’s New, Shockingly Non-Generic, Affordable Art

West Elm has always been known for their Downtown, modern (yet affordable!) aesthethic; their furniture is often a favorite among design-savvy NYC apartment-dwellers who are trying to get the high-end look for not-so-high prices. So, Ian Schrager wannabes get happy—West Elm has struck a chord we really like, teaming up with 20x200, whose art-for-all is addictive (and on Reserve now!). The partnership will include 10 ready-to-hang pieces that West Elm staffers curated from the 20x200 site, plus a line of gallery frames designed to fit and complement the limited-edition prints. The art ranges from abstract geometrics to roads and runways, but what we're lovin' most is the up-and-coming artists' price-points (pieces start at $19). In addition, starting August 27, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., West Elms across the country will be holding design classes entitled "Living with Art and The Art of Living" to help customers cultivate a better appreciation of, well, art.
