Found: The Ultimate Split-End Miracle Worker

While your stylist has preached that you should get a trim every four-to-six weeks, let's face it: Regular salon appointments aren't always on a clockwork schedule. Even so, the best reminder that you are overdue for a snip sesh is when split ends (a.k.a. trichoptilosis) make an appearance. Yep, nothing can spoil a 'do (ponytail included) faster than frayed cuticles resembling everything from feathers to trees. While the only way to remedy the situation is by — you guessed it — getting a trim, we found the perfect product to keep things under control until you can get into your stylist's chair.

Evo's End Doctor Smoothing Sealant is a bona fide miracle worker. Unlike those liquid shine serums that go on dry tresses, this formula — with key ingredients like macadamia seed oil and panthenol — is a gel-crème that goes on damp hair before any additional styling takes place. While Evo recommends End Doctor for taming unruly curly and wavy locks, it also works perfectly for ladies with dry and/or chemically treated hair.
We tried the sealant out on blonde, heavily highlighted, dry hair (split ends included) with a slight wave. To really put the product to the test, we proceeded to follow the application with a blowdry and a flat-iron style. Not only did our split ends seem to disappear, but the rest of our hair was soft and shiny, too. Oh, and it made our locks smell lovely to boot. So, while End Doctor may only be a temporary quick-fix, it's definitely a secret weapon every gal should have in her back pocket to make it look like she's never had a bad hair day.
Evo End Doctor Smoothing Sealant, $25.95, available at Evo.
