Boy grows up in Mauritius. Girl grows up in Italy. Their paths lead them both to Sydney. They meet and fall in love. After hundreds of phone calls and emails, and all of the joys and heartache that goes into a long-distance relationship, it was finally their time to marry. This is the story of Jean-Maurice and Francesca.
The couple decided to call Sydney, Australia home, but when it came to their wedding day, they chose Francesca's hometown in Italy, a small village at the outskirt of Mantua, a few hours from Milan. They married at the church Francesca went to as a child, and many local residents gathered to see her walk through the doors. To be sure all of their guests understood the ceremony, the couple had two friends officiate — one in Italian, the other French.
The reception was held at 15th century convent, Convento Dell'annunciata, with dinner under the stars. When it suddenly started pouring mid-meal, all the waiters and guests quickly moved the tables under cover, and the celebrations continued. Click on to see all of the photos from this romantic event.
