The Batmobile has nothing on this baby. As preppy favorite L.L. Bean celebrates its 100th anniversary, the rugged brand will tour the country in its Bootmobile, a 13-foot vehicular homage to its most famous product. We already wrote about the Bean Boot’s almost-unreal popularity – and our unwillingness to give up our own pair nonetheless – so you know we’ll be coming out to show our crazy fandom. And if you can’t make it out Friday, the Bootmobile is making stops in South Barrington on Saturday and Skokie on Sunday as part of National Get Outdoors Day. There will be opportunities to learn from the experts at L.L. Bean’s Outdoor Discovery School, participate in the company’s efforts to raise $1 million for the National Park Foundation, and win awesome prizes. So come out to Navy Pier from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to support your favorite outdoor shoe staple – we know we’ve never been so excited to get the boot!
