As much as we love snapping quick pics on our smartphones, there’s no escaping the nostalgic pull of a real film camera – and to prove there’s nothing like the real thing, analog camera giant Lomography is opening a new store in the Windy City. But before they do, a team of Lomography experts is hosting a photowalk to help newcomers and masters alike optimize their results using Lomography cameras. This Saturday at 2 p.m., turn your lens on to new sights as you tour Chicago’s hip Pilson neighborhood, explore a secret garden, and view remarkable street art and exquisite views of the city. And, once you strike snapshot gold, put your best photo forward in the Sweet Home Chicago photo competition, in which participants may enter online for an opportunity to have their photo showcased at the new Lomography store. Reservations include a free roll of film and a camera to borrow, so be sure to RSVP early at store.chicago@lomography.com – this event is sure to fill up in a flash!
