Pump Up Your Pad: Need-It-Now Decor From New Shop Modern Cooperative

modern-coop
You have an all-new summer wardrobe, but what about your apartment? If you're so over that Ikea coffee table and the posters you're passing off as wall art, it's probably time to do a little redecorating. Luckily, Chicago's design scene just got a whole lot cooler, thanks to the opening of the brand-new store Modern Cooperative.
In the true definition of a co-op, shop owners (and design professionals) Tiffany Paige and Mike Biersma offer local artists an opportunity to showcase and sell their new pieces. What results is a finely curated, and totally awesome, selection of vintage furniture and home decor pieces. Expect to score finds like glassware, vintage knick-knacks, and bar sets, to give your abode that extra oomph you've been looking for. The haute spot is open now, so you can start updating your pad asap — and, you know, start planning all of the parties you're going to throw to show off your new digs.

Modern Cooperative, 818 West 18th Street (between Newberry Avenue and Halsted Street); 312-226-8525.
