We live for the weekend. So, this summer, we're sharing the epic destinations that are filling up our 48 hours of uninterrupted freedom in this new series, The Adventurists. Get inspired, and then show us your own #Epic48 weekend snaps on Instagram.
The last time we went to New Orleans it was all beads and Bourbon Street and Hurricanes in oversized Styrofoam cups, but we don't remember the finer things — the culture, the boutiques, and the food. Style director Connie Wang reminded us the city's French Quarter is so much more than Mardi Gras. Instead of lamenting the limits of a weekend trip, she used the time crunch to her advantage. And, it was exactly the push she needed to check everything off her bucket list.
She tried beignets at the legendary Café du Monde and went gallery-hopping on White Linen Night — it's every bit as summery and Southern as it sounds. This short list allowed time to explore the 'hood, which resulted in plenty of wish-we-were-there snaps.
Since we'd never leave you behind, we tapped into Connie's weekend with the help of Secret's Destinations Collection and Scent Expressions. Ahead, a photo tour that proves the French Quarter is actually better when you're a bona-fide adult — even if you're never too old for a cocktail to-go.
