Jack-O’-All Trades: Why Pumpkin Should Be Your Beauty Secret Weapon

You probably already know how delicious pumpkins taste (and if you don't, then we highly recommend you go eat a piece of pumpkin pie, stat). But, did you know that pumpkins are also part of that elite club of fruits that are really, really good for your skin? They may not be the most well-known enzymes, but they're a popular ingredient in some of our favorite products out right now. Not only do they smooth your skin without being irritating it, but they also help to reveal healthy, more moisturized skin.
If the line outside of Starbucks during Pumpkin Spice Latte season isn't enough of an indication of how popular the warm, heady scent of pumpkin is, then let the influx of seasonally appropriate, pumpkin-themed bath products hitting shelves this time of year clue you in. Pumpkin and Papaya Mask:
Combine:
1 fresh papaya
1/4 cup of pureed pumpkin
1/4 cup oatmeal
1 tsp of honey
Combine:
1 fresh papaya
1/4 cup of pureed pumpkin
1/4 cup oatmeal
1 tsp of honey
Combine ingredients in a bowl and mix to a thick, creamy consistency. Apply to face and throat, avoiding eye area, leaving it on for up to 10 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water and follow with your favorite moisturizer.
