A California Wedding That’s So Sweet

This couple said they wanted their 4th of July weekend wedding to feel more like a backyard party from childhood rather than a wedding. They chose a navy and light blue color palette with pops of red and pink to give the event a subtle Americana vibe without being kitschy.

The rustic California setting meant they didn't need much decor, and they kept things simple by incorporating items from the venue (like an old wheelbarrow and a gardener's bench). The bride said the most special moments of the day happened right after they exchanged vows. Even though the groom's father had to miss the wedding due to serious health issues, they had a laptop ready so they could Skype with him immediately after they walked down the aisle as husband and wife.
