3 Chic Outfits To Hide That Holiday Bulge

Over the past month, we've pretty much used "It's the holidays!" as an excuse to indulge in as much food or drink as we wanted. Now, it's 2014, and when it comes to justifying our bad habits, we've got nothin'. Well, we do have one thing: a post-holiday bulge.
More endearingly known as the food baby, the post-holiday bulge is that extra few pounds in your tummy you managed to pack on in a matter of weeks. Sure, we all resolve to be a better, fitter version of ourselves for the New Year. But, in the spirit of procrastination, we've got three outfits perfect for the art of deception.

Sweatpants Are Your Friend
You may recall that after Regina George's Kalteen incident, sweatpants were all that fit her at the time. While you may not have binged on Swedish weight-gain bars, you definitely took in your fair share of holiday treats. And, as a result, you feel your most free in a pair of loose-fitting pants. Enter: the chic sweats upgrade. Opt for an all-black-everything for its slimming nature. Brighten with a colorful coat and a bit of frosting in the form of a statement necklace. And, a classic black heel never steered you wrong. We feel comfortable just talking about it.

Borrow From The Boys
Is it just us, or do boys clothes just seem more comfortable? If you've ever nabbed your boyfriend's hoodie or button-down, you know exactly what we're talking about. Opting for an oversized shirt will make that food baby disappear. And, a slight heel paired with a touch of almost-sheer lipstick will make this outfit feel feminine, despite its menswear roots. Did we mention it's kind of perfect for work? That's called a twofer, people.

A Sweater You Can Swim In
Sweaters are at their best — and coziest — when they are big in all the right places. You're not exactly in the market for a bodycon dress after a solid two weeks of eating and drinking everything in sight (totally worth it). But, the leggings you tend to pair them with aren't gonna work either. To reap all the benefits of the bulge coverup, pair your favorite oversized sweater with a jewel-embellished skirt. Loafers are the perfect way to dress up the comfy top while dressing down your blinged-out bottoms. And, in case you're worried your outfit is too monotone, brighten with a neon crossbody bag and a delicate ring for flair. Boom.
