Social Butterflies Turned Do-Gooders: Stimulus Social Club Keeps Hustlin’

To date, the Stimulus Social Club, or SSC, has raised over $115,000 for local Chicago charities. When you break that down to brass tacks, these individuals with busy social calendars and full hearts have poured over $100k into programs that benefit the residents of our city, just by having a good time. This month's event, should you care to join, will be held at District, in River North. On Wednesday, May 4 at 5:30 p.m., your $10 donation will score you a free drink and appetizers donated by District. All proceeds will go straight to Sit, Stay, Read, an organization dedicated to improving literacy levels in Chicago's at-risk youth. This plan is so genius, we're bummed we didn't think of it ourselves, but we're thrilled to be able to participate.

District Bar, 170 West Ontario Street (at La Salle Street); 312-337-3477.
