It looks like things are about to stop being polite, and start getting real here in San Francisco. That’s right, MTV’s long-running reality show The Real World is set to film in our topsy-turvy city for its next season, which will be the history-making program’s 29th run. The show’s cameras haven’t been pointed in our direction in over 20 years, when seven strangers moved into a Russian Hill abode in 1994 — the outrageous Puck among them. This time, it’s rumored Polk Street residents can expect the sure-to-be-rowdy bunch as their newest neighbors, no doubt due to the high volume of bars on the strip.
Sadly, The Real World may be getting its own bitter taste of reality since its viewer ratings failed to reach the million mark in Portland, making this upcoming S.F. season possibly its last. We’re dying to know: Will you tune in to all the local dramz, or will you be too busy watching HBO’s upcoming S.F. show? Personally, we think there’s enough room on our DVRs for both! (Business Week)
