It's no secret that we're already fans of Crave's classy-as-hell suite of pleasure products. Head designer Ti Chang brings a refreshingly elegant sensibility to an industry that was dominated for a long time by neon and plastic, and her signature sex-toys-as-jewelry have already garnered the brand a cult following. This week, Crave returned to its crowdfunded roots — the company says it was the first to develop a crowdfunded vibrator with its Duet in 2012 — by launching a campaign to create its new Flex pair of vibrators, which Chang introduces in the video below.
The twist: The brand is calling on you not only to fund but also to help design the series by trying out an early-edition programmable Flex or Duet Flex (which has dual tips and two motors meant to "surround the clitoris and amplify vibration"). Early users will create and test vibration patterns and intensities and upload them to an online application. Crave will then analyze this data to find the most popular patterns and intensities, which it will program into its "Greatest Hits Flex" and "Greatest Hits Duet Flex" vibrators. These will be available once the crowdsourcing project is complete. What's more, testers will receive $100 in Crave store credit when they submit their feedback on the beta vibrators (vibetas?). If having a hand in sex-toy development piques your interest, click through to Crave's Flex page to join. Happy researching!
