When a party is hosted by the likes of Alec Baldwin, Richard Gere and Carey Lowell, there isn't a New Yorker in sight who would let torrential rain deter them from putting on their party pants and heading out like a real trooper. Last week saw 900 such New Yorkers duck out in style, despite the downpour, to honor iconic pop artist James Rosenquist and philanthropists Gail and Al Engelberg at Artwalk's 2010 benefit. Lavishly sponsored by Fendi, the charity event raised over $844,000 for Coalition for the Homeless, with works on auction by the top-of-the-(art)crop—think Wade Guyton, Francesco Clemente, Gregory Crewdson, Nan Goldin, Jenny Holzer, Jeff Koons, Kim McCarty, Vik Muniz, Leonard Rosenfeld, and, of course, James Rosenquist. The Nicolas Feuillatte champagne swilling crowd ran the gamut, from star Arts Publicist Bettina Prentice (who had a big hand in organizing the whole shebang) to Gossip Girl hottie Matthew Settle, Vogue's Valerie Boster, designer Cynthia Rowley, Olympia Scarry, and author Lesley M. M. Blume. An art walk-off indeed.
