Are Childhood Sweethearts A Thing Of The Past?

Your first love...sigh. And yet, can you even remember what he (or she) looked like? Sure, we all ooh and ahhh at the thought of childhood sweethearts and successful first loves, but in reality, how many of us want our first to become our forever?
Recent research suggests that those numbers are quite low, with the majority of us wanting to play the field and “test the water” a little, before putting a ring on it and settling down.
The study, done by Future Foundation for The Co-operative, found that almost one in three couples over 60 has been smoochin’ since their teens, whilst only one in seven of the 26-30 year-olds interviewed for this study met their partner in their teenage years — suggesting that the majority of us are in fact waiting and dating and playing the field a bit longer.

Bothered? Not really. The point we're choosing to take from the study is this: Don’t worry if you haven't found the Mr or Mrs Right yet. Who needs diamond-wedding-anniversary gifts anyway? (Metro)
