20 Women In Long-Term Relationships Tell Us How Their Sex Lives Have Evolved

Our definition of sex has changed over time and with it, so have our expectations. We love hearing about the sexcapades and rendezvous of our peers — but sometimes we're guilty of exaggerating details for storytelling effect or out of worry that we won't measure up to some imaginary standard of sex. Here, though, 20 women have kindly shared intimate details of their sex lives and how their sexual relationship with their partner has changed over the course of their relationship, no little white lies necessary.

Plenty of films, TV shows, and books perpetuate the idea that the frequency and quality of partnered sex decreases as a long-term relationship progresses. And while that certainly could play out in real life, it isn't always the case. From a change in living situations and sex drives to growing older and breaking free from conservative thoughts, we find that our sex lives are rarely linear and there's always room for change.
